I think we have as good a chance as any of winning the league. I mean when you look whats in this division there is nothing that we should fear in all honesty.

When people talk about us they can only make up things about experience but surely we have as much experience as liverpool because they came close last year to winning the league and we came close only a year before so the experience is there.

As a fully devoted Manchester United fan, I cannot but agree with you about the vile taunting of Arsene Wenger and the even viler content of the chant. Long gone are the days in Football fandom, where the songs sung were generally to support your own team and players. The hatred on the terraces these days, songs about Munich, H'Boro, Heysel, and other disasters, only increase the suffering of the relatives of those who died. I have brought this subject of vile chanting up on a few United blog/forums, and appealed to supporters clubs leaders to think of ways to combat it. The Arsenal racist chants towards the jewish community of fans at Spurs is to be seriously condemned as most unnacceptable, and visa versa from spurs fans. The hatred in football, shows a deepening of the beast in mankind revealing itself. So I hope that if you truly believe in good examples to the younger generation, then all fan club leadership everywhere should start to make their own efforts to combat such chanting. Start by lobbying the club hierarchy to look into taking action about it too. As somebody who loves football and DECENCY of behaviour in equal measure, I apologise to Arsene Wenger, though that is not nearly enough, not to Arsene and not to any of the recipients of vile chanting from all the terraces in our country's football grounds.

I am 100% behind our beloved Arsenal and I really believe that we stand a better chance of winning the league this season.

The only difference between Arsenal, Man U, Chelski and even Liverpool is management of player. Unlike Wenger, Alex, Benitez and the Various Chelsea managers keep their players on their toes by applying a rotation system and dropping out of form players.

Our manager should employ the same tactic. Merida, Wilshere and Vela are more than capable of dethroning Denilson, Song and Bendtner. Wenger since to put age before footballing ability.

Wilshere is more than ready to become our super-sub. With his pacing range and awareness, we would have created more chances than Ramsey. I admire the Walsh boy but he is not ahead of Wilshere when it comes to footballing maturity.

I say bring in a rotation system, make early substitutions and give equal chance to every player regardless of age and we will win the league as long as Dean doesn't ref our games.

Up the Gooners !!

If i think calling arsene wenger a peado is unacceptable, it should be the same case as calling rooney a shrek. Because both are insulting. As far as this comparison is concern calling rooney shrek is rather worse than calling wenger a peado, because calling rooney shrek is implying that he is ugly. Wenger as a peado maybe came from his tendency of signing young stars.

So should utd fans make a campaign to stop calling wayne rooney shrek now? I dont think so really, because sometimes name calling is common in football and in fact in life there's nothing much we can do about it. Its just a banter. Being a united fan, i dont go as far calling mr wenger a peado but i do tend to call benitez a fat spanish waiter.and some others.

Having said that, i dont think this guys are bothered too much by the names, its just one of the risks of being successful and famous and i think they know that. Thus, us fans should just lighten up and make life a little more exciting.

so be it, shrek, ol'red nose etc...as long as it doesnt mock people who passed or others, i think its fine by me. Just a thought though.

The Wenger Chant came about not because of his tendancy to sign youngsters, in fact, it was a vicious rumour started and circulated on the internet by tottenham fans upon his arrival at the club which actually led to him having to com out and say he wasn't a p........... Therefore, it is not on the same level as caling Rooney shrek based on the fact he is ugly, one is true, one is complete fabrication only meant to hurt

Another United supporter and agreed the chant is vile, but dealing with chanting is a fairly tall order I think. You refer to the issue with Fergie on the bench at Arsenal and its precisely becuase that was so isolated and you can locate the protagonists so much easier to be dealt with. Chanting from the Stretty/stands is much more difficult.

Do you really want Fergie to riase the issue directly in the press conference before the next Arsenal game? Not sure Arsene would. Think thats been tried with Sol Campbell but not sure if it just doused the flames.

I havent seen the Eduardo pen award so cant comment on that but i think all clubs have issues to deal with on diving.

As much as I respect AW as a manager and for the way his teams play football, its disappointing that he would think outright deception of a referee is not as bad an offence as someone who tackles and gives away the odd fk.

btw wish the club would be as communicative as quickly with their own fans.

Its certainly no worse than Munich chants that you get up and down the country, even at the Emirates where Arsenal fans are often seen mocking aeroplanes. Are you telling me that Arsenal fans have never directed abuse at players such as Ashley Cole? Or that the abuse given out to Sir Alex each year is mild in nature?

What you might want to question, is where the Peadophile chants originated from. The use of the word Peadophile with relation to Wenger developed from the media, after they once falsely reported that Wenger was involved in this activity, the media are the ones responsible for this yet fail to recognise that.

Arsenal took action over abuse to Sir Alex (And probably other managers) as it was occuring from one row behind the dugouts, so a solution was easy.
When you have 10,000 people all chanting the same song, how do you take action over that?
Sir Alex himself has condemmed the chanting in previous years and it had died down. When you have the antics of a manager on the touchline such as Arsen, then chants are only going to start up (Phil Thompson received the same chant when he was at liverpool, yet with Peadophile substituted for Pinochio). The only way to stop them, would be for Wenger to remain seated and that wouldnt happen.
Football has always been full of chants against oppostion players, managers and supporters and Arsenal fans themselves have been guilty of chats that have been offensive to groups or individuals.
By highlighting such chants, they are then made out to be a lot worse than they actually are.

whats wrong with me? Wenger doesn't seem to be bothered (obviously he's a knuckle scrapper as well). I'm just not bothered by dodgy chants as I've heard them up and down the country for years (just to clarify: racist or anti-Semitic chants I do not term as merely dodgy and those do bother me).

Just think it's one of them pointless arguments that have only come about from a pointless blog....

And for the record, I go to ashburton grove and atmosphere is nothing to the old terraces at highbury and passion that was shown. And yes I do blame the new generation of fans for this, Not saying you can't go or be a fan, I just blame you for the tedium you bring...
