From an American Gooner - I recognize how important tradition is, and a stadium is surely the centerpiece of any club. And I think it's a wise move on the part of the board to bring in some more of the sorts of trappings that made Highbury a home. But please remember that Emirates has been open for only a few years. It's going to take a little time to feel right. Both of my baseball teams here (San Francisco Giants and Cleveland Indians) built new ballparks in the last 15 years, and at first it was difficult to feel like you were watching a home game in the new park. Now, of course, they're just as comfortable as the old parks ever were. (Even more so for the Giants - their old park, Candlestick, was always a chilly hellhole!) The team will create new moments and new history at Emirates, and those times will give the new stadium the sense of tradition that Highbury had. Give it some time.

The major problems with Emirates is that it is just like all other modern super stadiums and that the fans are so far away from the action.
The stadium is sterile, cold, and just like any other stadium. It is a generic stadium that could be a Spurs ground, a Liverpool ground, or anyone's ground. The modern stadium is utilitarian and off the same blueprint.
Also the fans are so far away from the action, much further than from Highbury that there is no intimacy or relationship with the fans. There is a sterile distance between the fans and the pitch.
It is a toilet bowl of a stadium. With red toilet paper. There can be no soul in there.

top article. gazidis really seems to have his head screwed on and its nice to know its not all about money. this club has a great history and its important this is never sold out to the buisness side of things as it has seemed in the last few years. clubs were built on their fans and its nice to feel appreciated in these small but over due gestures. next thing is for the fans to raise the roof for the boys and have them inspired to play for a club like 'the arsenal'. so dont wait for them to inspire us we were here first and will be here long after they are sold or retired, its our job to support this club through good times and bad. up the gunners!!!

Man you guys must be the ones they talk about when they say our fans are spoilt! I think what's going on here is the addressing of a massive problem with Arsenal as a club.

The match day experience since leaving Highbury has been like a morgue. I can only applaud the stupidly named 'Arsenalisation' of an otherwise brilliant thing to do because I was scared that our board didn't care for such things. They are looking to fix what they neglected and we can only be happy with that. Get with it!

We must have the North Bank and Clock End back with immediate effect.

I think that they should stop bullsh*ting us about not being able to put the clock inside the stadium. I expect to see it in the staduim above the renamed quadrant soon. Make it happen Gazidis, now!!
